Becoming a student

Newbury accommodates students with a variety of needs from different backgrounds. Whether a student has special educational needs (SEN) or behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (BESD) and has or has been at risk of permanent exclusion, we tailor our programme to meet each need. We work with students referred by local authorities/ educational services, schools and parents/ guardians who feel that their child will benefit from a bespoke educational programme.

If you have an EHCP (Educational Health Care Plan), we will work closely with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that you receive the best educational outcomes. If you are a parent/ guardian of a child with an EHCP, you will need to notify SENAR of your school preference to proceed. Furthermore, if your child is at risk of permanent exclusion or you feel that they are not receiving the support to meet their needs, discussions can be arranged with the headteacher of the existing school to arrange a transfer to Newbury School Project.
